Define
Success on Your Terms
What
does it mean to be successful? What is
the truth about success for you? Why is
it beneficial for success to be defined?
Given
the number of influences, past and present,
that we are subjected to it is very helpful
to know what is important so you. Don’t
get seduced or distracted by the demands
of others, your job, advertising or other
sources which might define what is important
for you if you haven’t taken the
opportunity to define it for yourself
first. Until you take time to define success
for yourself, it will most likely be defined
by others, your environment, your past
and advertising.
People who
define success on their terms:
- know
within seconds whether an opportunity
is right for them
-
stay true to their goals,
-
are focused on internal benchmarks for
success, not external measures,
-
know what matters to them and live in
integrity,
-
have control and direction over their
life.
The benefits
of defining success are:
- When
you have set your definition of success
you are not swayed by the emotions of
or evaluation by, others. You know your
standards. By knowing your standards
you gain a sense of purpose, peace and
ease.
- When
success is clearly defined you are not
distracted by ideas that won’t
help you reach your goals. It moves
you forward with direction.
- If
you don’t define what is most
important t you, then other sources
will tend to do it for you.
The
3 Steps to Defining Success For Yourself
1. Step 1
- I know I am being successful by…(fill
in the blank)
It
is important that you use the exact sentence
structure above. This sets you up to articulate
clearly how you not only define success
but you know when you are being successful.
2. Step 2
- Tweak your response until
it resonates with you.
You
will know that a success definition is
phrased well when it resonates within
you. If it does not create a strong feeling
yet, don’t worry. It may take a
couple days of tinkering with your success
definition before it zings. Your success
definition needs be exciting and inspiring!
You may find yourself thinking about success
as you are redefining it. If you become
truly stuck and just can’t find
resonation definitions, then simply start
over and pick a new one. Sometimes people
can confuse what they should or could
want for their success definitions with
what they really, really want.
3. Step 3
– Notice the tugs you
feel.
As
you feel your success definitions resonating
over the coming weeks, notice the way
it tugs at you to make small, or perhaps
significant, changes in your life. You
will catch yourself fairly quickly when
you feel pulled away from your definitions.
You will find it easier to say no to people
or situations that don’t fit with
what is important to you. It is up to
you if you want to make these changes
right now, but a least you will know what
your body and heart are suggesting.
Examples
Here
are some Strong (S) and
Weak (W) examples of
definition of success. What makes an example
strong is that it resonates a passion
within you instead of just describing
something important to you. Give the phrasing
a twist until is zings for you.
S:
I know I am being successful by how much
I am enjoying my creativity each day.
W: I know I am being
by how creative I am.
S:
I know I am being successful when I can
wake up every morning of every day and
decide, “What will I do today?”
W: I know I am being
successful when I can choose my activities
every day.
S:
I know I am being successful when money
is not a factor in any of my decisions.
W: I know I am being
successful when I am rich.
Book of the Month

Imagine having the power to easily manifest
whatever your heart desires. Imagine being
able to magically attract experiences
that bring you joy and fulfillment.
Sounds fantastic, but what is more incredible
is that you already have this power!
For most people this power remains a secret.
Others may have noticed its influence
but not yet figured out how to use it
reliably. And those who know the technique
often forget to put it into practice.
No problem, the solution is here and it's
called
The Secret an amazing new film/book
that elegantly reveals everything you
need to know to manifest your dreams.
Never before has the Law of Attraction
been explained so thoroughly, concisely,
and beautifully as in "The Secret."
The Law of Attraction states that like
attracts like; your thoughts and feelings
attract corresponding experiences. Sounds
simple but the implications are beyond
imagination. For me, "The Secret"
accomplishes three objectives:
- it
deepens my understanding of the Law
of Attraction and provides numerous
examples of how to apply it,
- the
uplifting presentation engenders a positive
attitude, and
- it
helps me remember to use my power more
often.
So even if you are familiar with the technique
of shaping your thoughts and feelings
to shape your life, this film/book holds
additional value in serving as both reinforcement
and reminder.
"The Secret" is suitable for
anyone with an open mind. Not only is
it ideal for novices due to the concepts
being presented in a transparent and enjoyable
manner, but it also satisfies advanced
students of metaphysics because the execution
is so delightfully original and insightful.
Fans of "What the Bleep Do We Know"
will undoubtedly find "The Secret"
even more enjoyable because in comparison,
the latter is more focused, concise, and
thorough.
I heartily recommend "The Secret"
to anyone interested in transcending limitations
and shifting to a higher state of existence.

A Piece of Serenity
Massage therapy for total relaxation
Getting
a massage can do you a world of good.
And getting massage frequently can do
even more. This is the beauty of bodywork.
Taking part in this form of regularly
scheduled self-care can play a huge part
in how healthy you'll be and how youthful
you'll remain with each passing year.
Budgeting time and money for bodywork
at consistent intervals is truly an investment
in your health. And remember: just because
massage feels like a pampering treat doesn't
mean it is any less therapeutic. Consider
massage appointments a necessary piece
of your health and wellness plan, and
work with your practitioner to establish
a treatment schedule that best meets your
needs. ~ from massagetherapy.com
